Welcome to the Jesus College Chess Club
The chess club at Jesus College, Oxford started (revived) again in
Michaelmas Term 1997, after a few years of non-existence. Currently
it has 15 active members both undergraduates and graduates. In Hilary
Term the club joined the intercollegiate league and Cuppers competitions
within the University of Oxford.
Competition Results
Four players from the Jesus College Chess Club have represented the
University of Oxford playing for the University Chess Club. In the
Varsity matches against Cambridge. Boyan and Daniel S. played for
the first and second university teams, and in the County league and
Cuppers matches. Boyan also played in the traditional Varsity match
against Cambridge University held in the Royal Automobile Club in
London, which Oxford won. William F., Johnathan M. and Boyan represented
the university in the Varsity Freshers' match against Cambridge
University played in Cambridge.
