Mathematics at Jesus College, Oxford



I am an Emeritus Fellow of Jesus College, Oxford.


From 1977 to 2008 I was Fellow and Tutor in Applied Mathematics at Jesus College.
I retired in October 2008 in order to concentrate full-time
on writing mathematics books and giving 'public' mathematics lectures.

My successor is Jim Oliver, who shares the teaching at Jesus College
with Andrew Dancer (pure mathematics).

Anyone who is interested in applying to study mathematics at Oxford is most welcome to consider Jesus College.
The College will be able to send further details and advise, in particular, on the next Open Day.

While I am hardly in a position to be objective, I believe that Jesus College's reputation
as a friendly, informal place to study mathematics is very well-deserved.



Many of my colleagues at Oxford who work on applied mathematics and mathematical modelling
are based at the
Oxford Centre for Industrial and Applied Mathematics.
